This recipe is a favorite fall dessert in our house. We typically enjoy these with milk or vanilla ice cream. I double the recipe for our family to make around 12 dumplings (depending on the size of each apple). Enjoy!

Apple Dumplings
Compliments of Grandma Wesco

Syrup
3c. sugar
3c. water
½ t. cinnamon
½ t. Nutmeg
6 T. Butter
Crust
4c. sifted flour
4 t. baking powder
1 1/3 c. Shortening
1 c. milk

Core and peel whole apples. Mix crust and wrap apple. Pour syrup over top.
Bake at 350˚F for 1 hour
