Meal in a Crock Pot
-
Aren't crock pots wonderful? I think they must be one of the greatest inventions of all time! :-)
Roast, Carrots and Potatoes is an easy meal, and Mother taught me a simple way to fix it, that tastes wonderful.

Boneless pot roast
Onion Soup Packet
1 cup water

Carrots
Potatoes
-
The amount of everything varies for different families, but the beauty of this recipe is that you can make whatever quantity you need!
If you slow cook it all day, the meat is more tender.
-
Place your roast, along with water, in crock pot. Sprinkle onion soup packets over meat. Cook on high for a couple of hours.
-
Place carrots (either baby carrots of cut up large carrots) in crock pot. Turn down to low and let slow cook for the rest of the day, until supper.

Potatoes: You can either chop/add them when you put in your carrots, or you can cook them separately and serve them mashed or in baked potato form.

We LOVE doing things in the crock pot! We do roasts pretty often, and just do water and salt and pepper with a few slices of onion on top (we also add potatoes and carrots to make a meal, of course). The onion soup mix would be really good in place of the salt and pepper! I'll have to do it for a Sunday dinner. That would be good!

Thanks for posting!
