Pancakes

I've posted 2 different size recipes, one is x6 and one is x7. Our family usually makes the x6 recipe.

This is the x6 recipe.
Ingredients:
6 eggs
6 cups all-purpose flour
4 1/2 cups milk
3/4 cups vegetable oil
6 Tbls. sugar
6 Tbls. baking powder
3 tsp. salt

Directions:
Beat eggs with whisk until fluffy; beat in remaining ingredients just until smooth. Grease heated griddle. Cook pancakes until puffed and dry around edges. Turn and cook on other sides until golden brown. Stack cooked pancakes on cookie sheet. Keep hot pancakes covered with towel until all pancakes are cooked.

This is the x7 recipe.

Ingredients:
7 eggs
7 cups all-purpose flour
5 1/4 cups milk
3/4 plus 2 Tbls. vegetable oil
7 Tbls. sugar
7 Tbls. baking powder
3 1/2 tsp. salt

Follow directions above.

My Aunt gave us a recipe for pancakes that is very similar to this, if not the same, but it is made for 2 people. That doesn't go very far for us for some strange reason! :-) I will have to use your recipe since it is x6-ed!

Thanks for posting!

Have any of you ever heard of the “Jonah” pancake? If any of your brothers “sacrificially” get up to make pancakes bright and early Saturday morning…be sure to watch out for wax paper!! The person who receives the “Jonah” pancake is elected to do a specific chore that day which nobody else in the family wishes to do.

Unfortunately, I’ve had the great “privilege” of receiving the “Jonah” pancake! My family (especially Tim, that rascal) had a good laugh watching me pull wax paper out of my pancake a few months ago! Nonetheless, the pancake itself was still delicious!

I guess that's what you get when you meet new families that have new ideas (especially if there are an overabundant number of brothers in the family)!

Thanks for posting, Abbie!

What a good idea!!!! I think my brothers might have to look out...
Have you ever read the "Old Squire's Farm" book? They (the girls) make Jonah pies and mark them so they don't get them but their cousins do!
